Microsoft is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Redmond, Washington,

that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers and services.


The objective is to establish a pipeline for women-owned businesses to present new technologies, services, products, processes or ideas to become competitive in the ever changing technology world to reach new markets and customers.


Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence

Identify new mobile apps, processes, services or products.  The proposal must be 2000 words or less.

  • Microsoft Ventures
    Microsoft Ventures is a global initiative empowering entrepreneurs around the world on their journey to buildgreat companies. Microsoft Ventures works with startups at every stage of maturity to provide the tools, resources, knowledge and expertise they need to succeed.

    The goal is to help startups scale their business, bring innovative services to market and reach new customers. The primary vehicle to empower startups is through their mentor-driven accelerator program designed to help top entrepreneurs get through the challenges of building a sustainable business, gaining customers and scaling to global markets.

    Requirements and additional value for the winners:

    • Funding: $1-1.5 million

    • Revenues:  $5-10k MRR Range

    • Employees:  1-10 employees

    • Commitment:  4-month commitment at the physical Seattle Accelerator location (August 2016).  Microsoft will provide some funding to defray costs, taking no equity and will provide deep connections into Microsoft, mentors from the startup community and top quality programming.

    • Additonal Value could include:

      • ​Access to facility in Seattle, the cloud capital of the world

      • Warm introductions to top Microsoft customers

      • Connection to a network of investors, influencers and industry-leading mentors

      • Access to Azure Engineering Team

      • Equity free program

      • $500,000 Azure credits

  • Five (5) $2000.00 grants for further research

  • Includes

    • ​Airfare to Seattle, Washington to present at the Microsoft corporate headquarters:  April 21, 2016

      • Arrive April 20, 2016 – Depart late April 21, 2016

    • Hotel for one night in Seattle, Washington


A 2000 word proposal detailing descriptions and supporting information will be due by March 20, 2016

The proposal must include:

  • Describe the concept of your disruptive product or service regarding Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence and/or technology solutions using or compatible with the Microsoft Azure platform.

  • What need or problem does your idea address?

  • Who is the intended market for this product or service?

  • What is your business expertise?

  • What do you need to launch your product or service?
